New Work Tonight

Tonight I started work on a new set of work. This time linocut block prints. This is very exciting to me–I haven’t had the time to delve back into this technique since starting my new job. Plus, I stored a lot of my equipment at my parent’s house before I moved across the state. I ended up just buying a new set of carving tools and barren this weekend. So hopefully in my next post I’ll be showing off some block printing!
My boyfriend have been hovering around me whenever I start carving with the knives. He’s worried that I’m going to end up cutting myself. I keep reminding him that I’ve been doing this for years and have never injured myself. However, about 3 weeks ago I cut my thumb pretty badly with an Xacto knife while cutting thick cardstock. I just have to be more careful in the future.
Salem, my boy kitty, is currently laying cradled on my lap purring loudly. He’s such a baby!
